Hardeeville, S.C. – Tennessee Wesleyan senior Robbiccaa Williams earned a top-10 finish this past Saturday (Oct. 24) to help guide the Lady Bulldogs to a 4th place team finish at the 2015 Asics Sand Shark Invitational, hosted by University of South Carolina-Beaufort.

Shawnee State won the meet with a total of 67 point. Tennessee Wesleyan collected a total of 153 points.

Williams finished 9th overall, crossing the finish line in 18:33, which marks a season's best time for Williams.

Tennessee Wesleyan sophomore Hannah Rhodes turned a top-15 performance, finishing 15th overall with a season's best time of 18:43. Junior Leah Chance finished 23rd overall with a time of 18:56. Sophomore Sierra Knighten was 34th overall with a time 19:31, while sophomore Karlie Yinger rounded out the scoring for the Lady Bulldogs with a 76th place finish of 20:22. Completing the top-7 for the team were senior Brooklyn Girdley and sophomore Chloe Nance. Girdley finished 112th overall with a time of 21:15, and Nance finished 125th overall with a time of 21:33.

"Well, on the plus side we had our best team race of the year. Rob, Hannah, and Sierra ran season best times and very close to their cross country 5K personal bests. Leah was tough and, although it wasn't her best day, she gave us a good effort. Karlie struggled a bit today, but as a team, this was our best meet of the year. On the down side, Milligan came out and beat us at almost every position. We hadn't seen them all year, so we learned a lot about where we need to match up and what we need to do in two weeks at the AAC Championships," explained head cross country/track and field Coach Justin Herbert.

Tennessee Wesleyan returns to action on November. 7th, as they head to Victor Ashe Park in Knoxville, T.N. to participate in the AAC Cross Country Conference Championship. The women's race is set to go off at 11:00am.
