[Women's Cross Country] LADY BULLDOGS EARN TOP TEN FINISH AT ROYALS XC CHALLENGEPublished by
Charlotte, N.C. – Tennessee Wesleyan senior Robbiccaa Williams earned a 10th place finish at the Royals XC Challenge, hosted by Queens University of Charlotte, on Friday (Oct. 9th) evening. Williams ran a season best on Friday, crossing the finishing line with a time of 18:38. Williams' performance, along with a 21st place finish of 18:51 by junior Leah Chance, guided the Lady Bulldogs to a sixth place team finish of 203 points in the NAIA race. Aquinas College won the NAIA race with a total of 67 points. Sophomore Hannah Rhodes followed Chance with a 40th place finish and a time of 19:19. Next to finish for the Lady Bulldogs was sophomore Sierra Knighten. Knighten finished 67th overall with a time of 20:02. Finishing fifth for the Lady Bulldogs was sophomore Karlie Yinger. Yinger finished 73rd overall with a time of 20:10. "Just missed upsetting a couple highly ranked teams today, but we had a good performance today. We certainly have room for improvement, but we're starting to come together," said head coach Justin Herbert about the women's performance this evening. The Lady Bulldogs return to action two weeks, as they head to participate in the 2015 Sand Shark Invitational hosted by University of South Carolina-Beaufort. The race is set to go off at 9:45am.
